Day 3 -Ocho Rios Jamaica

Day 3 we arrived in Ocho Rios in Jamaica. We were on organised trip, first we went to Bobsled Jamaica and after a lovely ride up into the rainforest we had a faster ride back down in the bobsled.

We the went to the Dunns River and walked up the waterfall, even Isobel who did really well, aided by our lovely guide.

Day 2 -Sea day

Our first day was at sea, so we just took some time exploring the ship, drinking frozen cocktails and catching some sun. In the evening we took in the gala dinner and the show.

Boarding the Seaside

We caught a taxi out to the port and were soon on board the cruise ship, which is lovely and new. We took in a few cocktails and explored the ship.

Beach and Irish grub

We spent the morning on the beach, swimming and catching some sun.

After a light lunch we chilled out in the afternoon before finding an Irish pub to give us some home cooked food.

Looking forwards to starting our cruise tomorrow, though the blog may be more sporadic depending on our internet access.

Art Deco nights

In the evening we took in the gorgeous sight of the building lit up in their bright colours.

Art Deco days

Our hotel is very centrally located on Collins Avenue, one block from South Beach. After a coffee and muffin to get us going we went for a walk down to the beach, though it was very sunny and hot.

After our wander we had bunch at the 11th Street Diner round the corner and then spent a while in the  hotel pool. We went down to the beach when it had cooled a little later afternoon and Steve and Sam had a swim in the sea, as well as drinking an enormous can of Strawberry Margarita!

We had a big takeaway pizza for tea in our room!

Travel Day

We left home at 6 AM for the short drive up to Manchester airport. The new Meet & Greet outside terminal 2 was great, bacon baps in the lounge and onto our Virgin Atlantic plane to Atlanta. We seemed to have Premium Economy leg room which was great and the 8.5 hour flight went quite quickly with a few films.

After a quick pass through customs, typical when we were in no hurry, we were able to get some G&T therapy in the lounge before our flight to Miami. At less than 2 hours it passed quickly and we picked up our luggage and caught the taxi to our South Beach hotel. We were tucked up in bed by 11PM to sleep off the jet lag!
